The approximately 67sqm large apartment (721,20 squerfeet) can accommodate up to 4 people. The apartment is homely furnished with convenience and a personally atmosphere.
From bedroom as well as from the kitchen living area you have a nice view over the large sun terrace and the adjacent mixed forest. To shade the terrace you will have an electrically retractable awning.
The bedroom has a double and a single bed and the living/kitchen area also features a pull-out sofa bed with innerspring. The fully equipped kitchen invites for your cooking events and the bathroom is designed with a walk-in shower and bidet.
Bed linen and towels are included in the room rate. Free Wi-Fi, bicycle storage (lockable) and parking at the house complete our offer.
And for the little ones upon request, a travel cot and high chair is available free of charge.

If you are looking for holidays in Gangelt, we warmly welcome you in our holiday flat (Ferienwohnung) “Mercator”. We offer apartments, which guarantees a relaxing stay and a perfect starting point for many sights and places of interest.
Gangelt is located directly at the border to the Netherlands in the far west of the Federal Republic of Germany. On the edge of the Rodebach-valley, our guesthouse offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, where you can enjoy your stay throughout the year.
Our Guesthouse is situated outside the city walls right at the entrance to the cross-border nature park Rodebach/Rodebeek which invites for hiking trips and discoveries in the adjacent nature.
Here you will find not only rest and relaxation, but also opportunities to expand your cultural knowledge. You can visit nearby German cities like Heinsberg and Mönchengladbach. Or maybe Aachen? Here you can visit the three-country border point and be at the same time in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Cross-border places such as Sittard, Maastricht and Roermond invites you for shopping tours in the neighbouring Netherlands, whereby Maaseik which is located in Belgium, is also worthwhile to explore.

Our apartment/holiday flat in Gangelt offers everything you wish for a relaxing holiday. On 67 square meters (721,20 squerfeet) we provide in our flat “Mercator” an open living/dining area, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom offers a double and a single bed and allows the accommodation of up to 3 guests.Furthemore, there is a sofa bed in the living area equipped with spring core that can be turned into an additional bed. Bed linen, towels and kitchen towels are provided free of charge. We are also well prepared for our little guests. They can use a travel cot (with a firm mattress), high chair and night light at no cost.This makes our holiday flat a perfect accommodation for the whole family.
Free Wi-Fi, a TV, a Radio/CD Player, a DVD-Player, board games, and books will keep you entertained after an eventful day.
A perfect way to finish your day after a long hiking tour, is to relax on the large sun terrace with a view of the setting sun behind the adjacent mixed forest.
Alternatively you can end your days in the living-dining area. This room guarantees a cozy get-together with a seating and dining group for four people.
The provision of numerous household items in the kitchen facility of the holiday flat (Ferienwohnung) “Mercator” in combination with an ironing board supports a comfortable stay. The dishwasher keeps you away from annoying rinsing by hand, you can better enjoy having a cup of coffee from the Senseo coffee machine during this time.In case you plan to extend your vacation, we also provide a washing machine and dryer for shared use between both apartments.
At last, the holiday flat “Mercator” offers a lockable storage for your bikes and a parking lot close to the house.
Excursions
Our apartments offer special accommodation all year long. The medieval city center of Gangelt with its narrow streets and medival buildings tell about world-famous personalities and is already worth a visit. The Cafe “Altes Rathaus” or one of the numerous restaurants invite you to stop by.
You also have the opportunity to cycle along the river Rodebach to the most western point of Germany. Or travel in a quieter pace through meadows and fields with one of the last narrow-gauge, historic steamtrain (Selfkantbahn) in Germany, followed by an interesting visit to on site located railway museum.
The Wild Animal Park Gangelt with a representative selection of European wild animals offers, not only for kids, an interesting destination. After a pleasant walk through the park, by watching plenty of wild animals, you can convince yourself about the kitchen of the restaurant and cafe “Haus Wildblick”.
For fun and coolness during the summer you will find a nearby miniature golf course, the “Kahnweiher” with boat rentals and a gorgeous outdoor pool with diving platform and two great slides.
Further attractions are playgrounds and various indoor swimming pools in the nearby surrounding, as well as indoor playgrounds are especially worth a visit for families.
